OUR CLUB
Bruin Racing is the largest mechanical engineering organization at UCLA’s Samueli School of engineering. We provide real-world, team-oriented, and project-based experience to students while preparing them to pursue any career. Bruin Racing creates a one-of-a-kind learning environment where students can get hands-on engineering skills
OUR TEAMS
Our organization is made of three teams: Baja SAE, Formula SAE, and Supermileage Vehicle
BAJA SAE
Bruin Racing Baja competes in the Baja SAE competition, a program of SAE International. On a yearly design cycle, Bruin Racing Baja designs, manufactures, tests, and competes a single-seat off-roading car that must compete again other collegiate teams in a series of events that test every aspect of the car's design, including Suspension and Traction, Maneuverability, and a four-hour, head-to-head endurance race.
BRUIN FORMULA RACING
Bruin Formula Racing competes in the Formula SAE competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers each year. They design, build, validate, and race a single-seater open-wheel race car against teams from colleges around the world in competitions including maneuverability, acceleration, and a 22 km endurance race.
SUPERMILEAGE VEHICLE
Bruin Supermileage is a student-led club building the world's most efficient electric vehicle. We design and build a practical, road-worthy car that can achieve 100+ mi/kwh. Our team is made up of students who are passionate about the future of urban mobility. We race annually at the Shell Eco-marathon competition.
